The Shaker Heights High School PTO Senior Celebrations Committee is dedicated to helping celebrate the Class of 2027. We organize and are fundraising $15,250 to support several activities.

Help the Senior Celebrations Committee plan the events!

It will take lots of help to plan, fundraise and execute these events. Join us as we give our seniors a memorable end to their Shaker experience!

 


Donate time:

  • Senior Celebrations Committee: Organize the annual events celebrating the Class of 2026.”  Please sign up here
  • After Prom: Parent-run party immediately following Prom. This event requires a lot of helpers! Please sign up to be a Day-Of Volunteer.
  • Senior Clap-Out: Seniors return to their elementary schools in caps and gowns to be celebrated by current students and teachers. Clap-Out will be offered at all five elementary schools. Sign up here to be a elementary school liason
  • Senior Project Showcase: Shaker parents, teachers, staff, and community members are needed to review and evaluate Senior Project presentations on Thursday, May 20th 5:30pm - 7pm. No need to have a student in the graduating class to participate! Sign up to be a Volunteer Evaluator.
  • Senior Sunset: Volunteers needed to collaborate with student council to organize a final senior send off with an outdoor movie, snacks, and lawn games. Please sign up to help with Senior Sunset

Senior Celebrations FAQs

 

 

What is After Prom? 

  • Saturday, May 15th from 11:30pm - 2:30am at St. Dominic’s School.
  • After Prom is a party for seniors and their dates that provides a fun, safe place to go after Senior Prom.  A student does not need to attend prom in order to attend After Prom. Activities will include games, food and lots of unbelievable prizes! 
  • ID is required for entry.  No bags, or other personal items, will be admitted.
  • It is run by parents and guardians of SHHS students.
  • This event requires a lot of helpers! Please sign up to volunteer 

 

 

 


 

 

 

What is Senior Clap Out? 

  • Senior Clap Out will take place on Wednesday, May 19th. 
  • Each senior has an opportunity to head back to their original elementary school in their cap and gown to visit their teachers and principal.
  • Students who did not attend a Shaker elementary school can participate at an elementary school of their choosing.
  • Seniors should arrive at the high school at 11:30am at the north gym to borrow a cap and gown for clap out.  Seniors will then be transported by bus to the elementary school they indicated (except Onaway)
  • Parents and guardians will head directly to the elementary school.  Clap out begins at 12 noon at the elementary school and ends around 1pm.  Seniors may take a bus back to the high school if they wish.

What is Senior Project Showcase? 

 

  • Senior Project Showcase is a fabulous way to spend one hour of your day on May 20th. This volunteer opportunity is for ALL SHAKER COMMUNITY MEMBERS! No need to have a student in the graduating class to participate.
  • Shaker parents, teachers, staff, and community members are needed to review and evaluate Senior Project presentations on Thursday, May 20th in the High School at 5:30-7:00 pm. This role can take as little as 20 minutes or as much as an hour -- depending on how much time you want to commit that evening.
    • No expertise required!  
    • Volunteers need to commit to arriving between 5:30-6:15 p.m.
    • You will have the chance to see what hundreds of students in the Class of 2027 have learned outside of the classroom through Shaker's unique Senior Project Program! You will be so happy you volunteered for this activity!
    • Please invite your family, friends and neighbors to participate. This is a great way to get a glimpse of this wonderful learning opportunity offered to our graduating seniors.
