Teacher and Staff Lunch

PTO provided lunch for teachers and staff to kick off the school year. The teachers enjoyed a taco bar lunch catered by Cilantro Taqueria courtesy of the PTO on August 23! We wish the teachers a great year ahead and thank them for all that they do for our children!
Rainbow Run

Middle School Upper Field
The Raider Rainbow Run is a 2 mile fun run... AND WALK through the SMS neighborhood for Shaker Middle School students. Registered runners who raise at least $25 will be given an official white Rainbow Run t-shirt and will make their way on a course with color stations. Volunteers from Shaker Schools will spray runners with a variety of colors as they pass! All Shaker Middle School students are invited to participate. Any students not participating in the run will attend their regular 7th and 8th period classes. We will run RAIN OR SHINE! You won’t want to miss this memorable tradition!
Join the Middle School PTO’s largest FUNdraiser of the year!
There will be a DJ, food, and festivities. Come reconnect with old friends and make new ones. There is a $5 registration fee. Participants must raise or donate at least $25 in order to receive an official Raider Rainbow Run t-shirt. Donations help to support teacher grants and educational opportunities for all SMS students, including scholarships for the annual field trip to Washington DC.
Design Days
Thursdays and Fridays in December
Shaker Middle School
Every year Shaker Middle School seeks volunteers to present at Design Days, a unit helping 7th and 8th graders understand how the Design Cycle applies to the companies, careers, and products within our community. Parents or community members visit the school and speak with students for 42 minutes about the design elements in their career and introduce a simple hands-on project or discussion for the class to understand how design applies to real-world problems. If you work in architecture, engineering, robotics, startups, product design, or technology, or know someone who does, please consider participating!
