Welcome Back!
Dear Middle School Families,
Welcome back to a new school year! Hopefully you had a wonderful summer and are ready for an exciting school year ahead.
Middle School is a big change for many of our students and this school year our goal is to create an environment where we embrace the whole family. We want to create fun, enticing (we all know how hard it is to get our middle schoolers excited about school events), and inclusive events and initiatives for our students, families, and staff. We are championing this philosophy with our theme for this year – PTO is Poppin’.
And we want YOU to be a part of that. If you have a child at Shaker Heights Middle School, you are automatically a valued member of our PTO. There are no fees or dues, and we welcome your involvement throughout the year through attendance and volunteering at our events throughout the year.
We are looking forward to the new community we will create this year!

September PTO Meeting
Join us in the Middle School Library as we launch our PTO for the year on Thursday, September 12 at 7pm. This is a great opportunity to get connected with other families, share information, and ask questions. We welcome all Middle School parents and caregivers to attend.
Back to School Bash
Join us as we celebrate the new school year in style! All families are invited to join us on Saturday, September 14th from 2-5pm at the Middle School for a Back to School Bash like no other. We are teaming up with Moreland on the Move, Shaker Heights Police Department, and the Shaker Schools office of Family & Community Engagement to throw an exciting event with games, food, and celebrating our community. This event will take a lot of volunteers so please click here to sign up to help.

PTO provided popsicles for teachers and staff to cheer them up on a swelteringly hot day!
Teacher and Staff Lunch - Friday, August 23
PTO provided lunch for teachers and staff to kick off the school year. The teachers enjoyed a lunch catered by Caterology courtesy of the PTO! We wish the teachers a great year ahead and thank them for all they do for our children!
Register as a Volunteer
