The Shaker Heights PTO is proud to partner with the Shaker Heights Schools, City of Shaker Heights, the Shaker Public Library, and the Shaker Schools Foundation for the 2026 MLK Day Celebration and Commemoration. Join us as we explore how each of us can build a more Beloved Shaker in the following events:
SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, FROM 10 A.M. - NOON
Drive-through Donation Drive
Shaker Heights Middle School
Support local nonprofit organizations in a drive-through donation drive at the Shaker Heights Middle School. More details about items in need can be found on the Donations Drive flier.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 18 FROM 1:30 - 3:30 P.M.
Community Conversation & Meal Catered by Zanzibar Soul Fusion
St. Dominic School (3455 Norwood Road)
All residents are invited to the 2nd Annual MLK Day Community Conversation & Meal. Join us as we consider how we can live out Dr. King’s dream in this time and place. Local favorite, Zanzibar Soul Fusion, will cater the free community meal. Meet us at St. Dominic School at 3455 Norwood Road for this memorable afternoon! Note: While the St. Dominic address is Norwood Road, the parking lot entrance is on Van Aken Boulevard. Free event, but registration is requested at https://events.shakerlibrary.

Shaker Culture & Engagement Officer Colleen Jackson will lead a discussion of Dr. King’s final book where he lays out his vision for the Beloved Community. Register here.
